ISO TC 315 Online Meeting

ISO TC 315 ONLINE MEETING

ISO TC 315 ONLINE MEETING

In maintaining food quality and safety, the role of the cold chain is increasingly being demanded by the world community in connection with guaranteed food supply and storage throughout the year. This demand is also closely related to the increasingly expensive world food prices because there is still quite a large amount of food depletion because it has not been fully supported by the cold chain system, especially in production areas and muddy markets that are easily accessible by the public. Countries in any part of the world are disturbed to fix their cold chains so that food security can be well maintained at affordable prices. Japan and several other developed Asian countries took the initiative to harmonize cold chain platforms between countries, especially ASEAN countries (as producer and consumer countries) through a standard cold chain delivery system. A standard formulation technical committee team was formed consisting of experts in several countries (Asia and Europe). The standard is branded as ISO TC 315 which discusses Cold Chain Logistics. From June 2021, an online meeting has been held to prepare the standard body. The core team of ISO TC 315 from countries: Japan (Coverner), South Korea, China, Indonesia, India, France, UK, and Switzerland. There are 19 countries as active members. Indonesia is represented by Mr. Hasanuddin Yasni (ARPI, Task Group-1 / TG-1 core team, Strategic Business Plan) and Mr. Purwanto (BSN). After TG-1 and TG-2 (Terminology) finished making all standard chapters, a plenary online meeting was held from 15 to 18 February. The ISO TC 315 team added about the contactless delivery project, reefer transportation, packaging and business matching B to B and B to C. ARPI was asked to be actively involved in these additional projects because it strongly supports the ISO TC 315 standard. These projects will be discussed in more detail before an online plenary meeting will be held in next September.

Meanwhile, BSN Indonesia has prepared SNI KT 55-02 on “Cold Logistics of Supply Chain and Distribution” after the completion of the SNI for “Thermal Container” on the initiative of the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment.
